Hurray, summer is officially here and in full swing! And if my guess is right, traveling is the vocation in the diary of most people. This season of the year, most people find it difficult to maintain their healthy and fitness lifestyle while on vacation. There should not be an excuse to fall off the wagon even if you are on the road, far away from home, when traveling or out of your familiar territory. Having a routine makes it easier to maintain a healthy lifestyle. From having your week planned ahead to hitting the gym and prepping your meals and ensuring you stay properly hydrated is a big deal. Keeping to your goals can be challenging but it is not impossible but doable. Manna will be sharing a few tips to incorporate physical activity while on the road, official trip or a short vacation.
Here are some six tips to stay fit and healthy while traveling:
1. The Workout schedule: Ensure you have a workout scheduled planned ahead of your trip. It could be a short visit to the hotel gym or go on a swim to wrap up the day. This schedule will help you stay organized without missing a time to exercise. Set a time reminder.
2. The Short walks: We undermine the value of short walks. Even with a tight schedule, surely you can squeeze in some time for walks. Walks are one of the simplest exercises around. With no equipment required, you are always set to take that walk. So, is your day loaded with back-to-back meetings? Try using the stairs, take a stroll around the meeting hall or a visit to the bathroom on short breaks in the course of your day. This little effort makes a huge impact on your body and helps clear your brain.
3. The Room: No gym insight in your hotel? No worries! Create space in your room and use workout videos online.
4. The Airport: Make the waiting at the boarding area count. Try the farmer’s walk by moving around with your laptop bag and hand luggage. This may look simple but it’s incredibly effective as those heavy items with help with your muscles, shoulders and legs.
5. The Boarding: Yes, every opportunity counts!! While waiting on that long queue to board, stretch your legs, squat occasionally and move your neck around. This will release your body and prepare you for the trip whether on short or long haul flights. Repeat in the flight.
6. The Air Cabin: Sitting for a long time can cause cramps in your waist, legs and neck. Get up to use the restroom; roll your neck and shoulders while sitting. Also, bend and touch your toes before heading back to your seat. Be creative and have a fun trip.
In conclusion, explore the options available to you, whether it is biking, outdoor yoga, or guided hiking. What really is the excuse? Fitness while traveling is a carryon, won’t you agree!
Enjoy your summer😉😉
Every movement counts… keep moving, don’t stop.
