The View - BSS 102

And just like that, 2022 is approaching its final lap! Do you still believe God can?

What do you see? Are you short sighted or long sighted?

Abraham what do you see?

“The Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, ‘Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever. I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your offspring also can be counted. Arise, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you.’” Genesis‬ ‭13:14-17‬ ‭ESV.

In the earlier verses of Genesis 13, Abraham asked Lot, his brother-in-law, to separate from him and move either to the right or left. He gave Lot the privilege to pick whichever way he wanted. Abraham was not in a hurry to pick a better land. The moment Lot lifted his eyes, he saw a land well-watered like the garden of the Lord. He immediately picked a more flourished land. Then the Lord visited Abram and told him to lift up his eyes and take possession of all that his eyes could behold. The Lord never abandons. This encounter must have transformed his vision. Suddenly the land that was despised by Lot became a choice land. The length and breadth have been freely given. No striving or negotiations. It was already settled and prepared for Abram and his offsprings. With God on his side, he sees opportunity and promise.

Elisha what do you see?

“He said, ‘Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.’”

Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So, the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” 2 Kings‬ ‭6:16-17‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Israelites what do you see?

“And Moses said to the people, ‘Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.’” - Exodus‬ ‭14:13-14 ‭ESV‬‬.

In the end, the Lord gave the Israelites victory over Pharoah and his armies. The Lord

promised victory over their enemies and He delivered it.

Beloved, what do you see?

How far can you see? You conquer first in your mind before your sight. Scripture has it that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. We should look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. We believe, because the word of God has declared it. Look unto Jesus … not at your circumstances, sicknesses or low bank account. FIX your eyes on JESUS. Pray: Lord, open my eyes.

"the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what the hope of his calling is, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints." Ephesians 1:18.

When you look, what do you see? Opportunities or obstacles? Challenges or Limitations? Open or closed doors? Successes or failures?

When we lift our eyes to the hills, help comes from the Lord. When we set our hopes higher than our eyesight, the Lord comes into view! We see better and have a new perspective. In 2023, see beyond your eyesight to usher in the Lord’s view. Look beyond the ordinary; look beyond the norm; look beyond naysayers and look again!!

As the year draws to a close, it is my prayer that the Lord will crown it with His goodness, and it shall end gloriously in PRAISE.

I will encourage you with this Bible verse- “You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance.” - Psalms‬ ‭65‬:‭11‬ ‭(NKJV‬‬).

Hope you had a merry Christmas even as I believe God that you have a wonderful new year with a fresh perspective on life.

Shalom✝️
