What description best suits the year 2020? Pandemic year … COVID … Covid-19 … teleworking … lockdown, the era of the emergence of zoom meetings, and many more. It was an extraordinary year; one we may never witness again in our lifetime … hopefully not. Now, whatever name you tag or ascribe to 2020, is justified based on how you may have felt and that is OKAY. 2020, is a year to remember in so many ways!!!
In March 2020, Spain announced the lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic. I started noticing some symptoms, l was on admission for 5 days with 3 tests, and the results were negative. Miraculously, l was healed and delivered from this deadly disease for which am grateful. I figured this was my chance to live life again. Here was an opportunity to take my health more seriously. Before now, many years ago, l was in and out of my health journey. Exercising by taking long walks but regular and sometimes having fruits only diets. Need l say more, it paved off. In April of 2020, after my recovery, I started my Power walking exercise without any App. I continued once every other day. My elder sister, Dr. Evelyn Brisibe introduced me to an App called MapMyWalk to help track my workouts. From every other day, my workout progressed to daily workouts. I joined some friends on Intermittent Fasting, introducing more fruits and vegetables to my diet.
By June 2020, l joined the Stridekick Exercise App. From 96 kilos weight in January, l achieved 80 kilos by December 2020. While l am grateful to God, firstly, for grace and strength, l am grateful to my husband, children, sister, and friends for their encouragement, cheering, and supporting me. I am so proud of my successes and enthusiasm. I sometimes wondered how far l have come and where did l get the motivation to continue! My wardrobe needs a decluttering, l believe. The goal although achieved is still ongoing and a lifestyle to maintain ultimately.
This year, 2021, l am excited, determined to improve and create a more stable lifestyle- learn-unlearn and keep improving. Also, to help women and men to exercise and create a healthy lifestyle. Wherever you are at, starting small and taking baby steps is important to a lifestyle journey. I would encourage you to Get up …Keep Masking... Moving … Stepping, one day at a time.
I would love to hear from you, how did you cope in the pandemic year and what are you doing to continue to build a healthy lifestyle. Drop your comments, subscribe, like and share with friends.

Bravo Mrs Laura. The pandemic taught me to love and care for people genuinely because life can be so short and we can loose track of time. I coped only by Gods grace but the time on lock down during the pandemic taught me to be innovative.
I am beginning to have a healthy life style by first “drinking water” thanks so much for the bottle you gave me. Water truly is life. I’m hoping to improve in other areas.
Well for me it was a mix bag of blessing. 2020 started on not so good note with pandemic and some life's challenges. All of which made me change my perspective about how to engage life and people. The blessing part was the ability to change the way I engage and find ways to stay true to why and who I am. I have taken more time to process my purpose statement more this past year than before, the pandemic brought a a gift of slowing down to breathe! It was brought with it a time to reflect and re-prioritize what is needful vs what is wanted. The lockdown was a gift that I am eternally grateful to have experienced.🤓❤️
Very inspiring! Cant wait to see where this journey takes you☺️
