Meteorologist state that hot temperatures are expected and will continue in parts of the world. l can concur that it is not the most palatable experience. From wanting to stay hydrated, or a regular dip in the pool, this is not always a season to look forward to. So, how do we manage and thrive in these unwelcoming heat wave forcing its weight on us?
Below are some ways to stay hydrated in this sparse climate:
1. Keep your reusable water bottle within reach and with a visual reminder.
2. Set a reminder on your phone - Try every hour.
3. Consume water-rich fruits and vegetables, like Cucumber, watermelon, spinach and Zucchini. Preferably juiced.
4. Flavor your water with fruits or water enhancers like lemon, mint, or cucumber.
5. Drink a glass of water when you wake up and before each meal.
Here are some signs of mild dehydration to look out for:
1. Dark-yellow urine
2. Headaches
3. Dry mouth, lips, or eyes
4. Muscle cramps.
Staying hydrated is recommended to combat this heat wave. Get on with it.
